What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathic medicine is an incredible healing art that has been used successfully for hundreds of years and is the most-used medical healing modality in the world!

Homeopathy is a gentle and effective form of natural, wholistic medicine that can be used to treat many conditions, illnesses, and diseases. Homeopathic remedies are made from minute, potentized doses of substances found in nature. These medicines are prepared according to scientific principles that allow them to be easily utilized by your body to support your body’s attempts to heal itself. The basis for homeopathic prescribing is the Law of Similars, which states that the symptoms produced by a substance taken in a large dose can be cured by that same substance taken in a minute, potentized dose. Take, for example, a case of insomnia. It has been said that coffee, in large doses, causes insomnia. Interestingly, the homeopathic remedy made from a minute, potentized dose of coffee, called Coffea Cruda, is often used to treat insomnia!

The Homeopathic Approach

The homeopathic approach to healing is as unique as it is brilliant. A Homeopathic Doctor is specially trained to determine the very best remedy for you - every person is unique and is treated as such. For example, two people who suffer from migraines will not necessarily receive the same homeopathic remedy. In fact, it is unlikely.

A Homeopathic Doctor will take the time to get to know you personally and to learn about any problems you may be having or conditions from which you might be suffering. As a result, he or she is able to select the remedy that best suits your individual personality and symptom picture. There are over 3000 remedies to choose from!

Homeopathic Doctors believe in treating each person as a whole - mind, body, and spirit - and we believe that all symptoms are thus inter-related. Our prescription, or remedy choice, is therefore based on the totality of symptoms that you are expressing.

There are no adverse side effects or suppression with homeopathy because it simply supports the body's own attempts to heal itself, following the natural tendencies of the body, not blocking or impeding it in any way. People often seek homeopathic treatment for illnesses and conditions with which they have been diagnosed, yet many people choose homeopathy when they suffer from pain or discomfort but diagnostic tests show no abnormalities. Others come simply because they feel generally unwell or lack energy. The healing effects of homeopathy are practically limitless, and as such, homeopathy is a wonderful treatment option for everyone.

Homeopathic Medicine Fee Schedule

Effective January 1st, 2009 - Fees subject to GST

Chronic cases:
$195.00 per initial consultation (2 hours)
$80.00 per follow-up appointment (45 minutes)

Chronic cases for children 10 years and under:
$175.00 per initial consultation (2 hours)
$80.00 per follow-up appointment (45 minutes)

Acute cases: $35.00 per assessment (includes remedy)

Surgical Consult: $50.00

Remedies: $15.00 / bottle

Some extended health care plans now cover homeopathy. Check with your provider.

Please note:

All fees are payable at the end of each consultation (cash or cheque only).
Telephone and email correspondence will be billed at a rate of $90.00 per hour.
A $15.00 shipping fee will be added if the remedy is to be mailed to the patient.
A fee of $30.00 will be applied for missed appointments if notice is not received 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
A $30.00 fee will apply for all NSF cheques.
